The Virgin Gorda Festival Committee's mission is to provide a safe and enjoyable festival for everyone.  This Festival season it is all about UNITY.  Our goal is to unite everyone within our community regardless of origin, ethnicity or culture. Our slogan exemplifies our beliefs as we proclaim "A Cultural Blend for Easter Festival 2010”.

                           Parade Rules            

All floats and bands shall assemble on Marina Road by 11:00 a.m. April 5th 2010    

The Parade will start at 12 noon; the decision of late entries will be allowed in the parade and the placement of each entry within the parade shall be the decision of the parade Chairman or Parade Committee. The decision of the body shall be final.  
 
Late entries should they be eligible for a prize will forfeit 20% of their winnings.
     A. In order to be considered as a competing entry, participants(s) must complete and return the signed registration form and agreement by the set deadline.      

Visiting non-BVI entries are not eligible to compete for prizes with local entries.  
 
Troupes must be identified with the entry name on a banner at least 6’ x 3’ in size which must be prominently displayed on Parade Day.   

Entries must go and remain in assigned position throughout the parade unless reassigned by a parade marshal.     

All parade participants (troupe leaders, drivers, members, etc.) must carry out all instructions given by parade marshals.   

All vehicles within the parade must be authorized and recognized by the parade sub-committee. All authorized vehicles will receive an entry number. Vehicles without an entry number will NOT be allowed in the parade. All vehicles MUST be driven by an individual with a current BVI Driver’s License. 

All drivers must be sober!!!!! Intoxicated drivers pose a safety risk and will be dealt with by the Police.   

Riders on a float or in any other parade entry must be dressed appropriately to enhance the theme of the entry and parade. It is the entries responsibility to ensure the safety of all riders, float operators and out-walkers associated with the entry.  

Demonstrations must be done at the designated locations (at the Catholic Community Centre, opposite the new Marina shopping Center and in the Village) to be eligible for a prize. Demonstrations will be limited to 5 minutes at each location to avoid large gaps in the parade.  

All vehicles, including those with
music and refreshments must be completely decorated prior to parade assembling.  

Material deemed controversial by the Parade Chairman and/or the Parade Committee will not be allowed in the parade. A parade entry may be pulled from the lineup as late as the start of the parade if, in the judgment of the parade Chairman or members of the Committee, the entry is controversial, unlawful or otherwise inconsistent with the standards, theme, quality or purpose of the Easter Monday Festival Parade.
